We have access to more information about our health now than any time in history. It seems like everyday there is a new miracle, a new cure for the things that ail us, another pill or potion that will make us feel better. Green tea is the “now” nutritional supplement. It has enjoyed a surge in popularity in recent years, but is it worth all the hype? What exactly are the benefits and are they effective enough to consider? The Food and Drug Administration has not officially approved green tea or endorsed any of its properties, but believers swear by them.

One of the pros (or cons, depending on your side of the fence on the issue) of it is its caffeine content. The tea contains about have the caffeine as a regular cup of coffee. There are several schools of thought on caffeine’s effect on the body. It’s definitely a stimulant, and some choose to avoid it for that reason. Some dieters say going decaf helps them curb their sweet tooth. Others say the little caffeine boost helps rev them up for their workout.

Another unsubstantiated perk of this beverage is its ability to delay and sometimes alleviate the symptoms of neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s. Most such diseases involve the build up of a certain kind of plaque in the brain, which restricts blood flow and leads to the nerve damage that is characteristic of such illnesses. In a study published in the Journal of Neuroscience, the antioxidant EGCG has been shown to positively affect the amount of harmful beta-amyloid protein plaque in lab mice. The animals that were treated with a daily injection of EGCG exhibited a whopping 54 percent less of the harmful plaque than the animals that weren’t treated.

If green tea is what it takes to stave off such dreadful diseases, why isn’t everyone drinking it? Simple, it’s just not enough. Other antioxidants found in the tea water down the effect of RGCG. In order to reproduce the same effect in humans that the lab mice experienced, the dose would have to be about 1,500 or 1,600 milligrams a day. The large amount has been tested on humans and found to be safe.

Advocates also say it contains thermogenetic qualities that speed up metabolism and help with weight loss. To get the maximum health benefits of green tea, you’d need to drink the concentrated form of RGCG, which can also be found in vegetables. People who make a point to consume foods that contain RGCG keep themselves detoxified. Doing so reduces their chances of developing cancer and other diseases.

Be aware that the health hype has aided its commercialism. Beverage brands have been quick to jump on the bandwagon and offer a plethora of variations on the theme. Just because it says “green tea” on the label doesn’t mean it has all the nutritional benefits you’ve heard about. After processing, it might not even be good for you at all. Always read the nutritional information on the back of the label and be sure of what you’re consuming

The health benefits of regular green tea are amazing enough. But did you know that there is another version that is even more potent? It is so potent that it has 10-15 times more nutrients than the regular kind. It even has more antioxidants than blueberries. It is called matcha green tea.

Matcha is made from only the top 2-3 leaves of the plant and uses the entire leaves. These leaves are carefully ground into a very fine powder. As a result, the tea is easily absorbed into the bloodstream.

I’ll list some of the nutrients and benefits here:

* Vitamins A, B-complex, C, E and K.

* Trace amounts of the minerals calcium, magnesium, copper, iron, zinc, potassium, phosphorus, sodium.

* Strong blood detoxifier due to high chlorophyll content.

* 70 times the antioxidants of orange juice.

* Nine times the beta carotene of spinach. and 4 times the beta carotene of carrots

* Extremely rich in polyphenols (antioxidants) and catechins, especially EGCG, which helps fight cancer. In fact, according to a study at the University of Colorado, match has 137 times more catechins than regular tea.

* Boosts metabolic rate by 35-40%, thus assisting in weight loss.

* 2 cups of regular green tea has approximately twice the antioxidants of red wine, 7 times that of orange juice and 20 times that of apple juice. Matcha has approximately 10 times the polyphenols and antioxidants of regular teas.

* Adds fiber to the diet.

After reading that list it should be no surprise that it’s the most potent green tea in the world. It has been consumed in Japan for more than a thousand years. Buddhist monks first discovered it and this is the type that is served at Japanese tea ceremonies.

Matcha tea has to be carefully grown and shaded. Weeks before the harvest, the plants are covered to protect them from directly sunlight. The leaves turn a darker shade of green as a result, which in turn increases the production of amino acids. Amino acids increase the sweetness. So if you feared that it would be more bitter because it’s more potent, it’s not. In fact, matcha is now a common ingredient in sweets. The leaves are harvested by hand and are also ground by hand with stone. Outside the US it is often not ground properly so it’s best to purchase matcha from Japanese growers.

Even though it is so potent it only contains a small amount of caffeine (25 mg). It also contains L-theanine, which has a calming effect. Therefore the caffeine won’t raise your blood pressure. The L-theanine also helps increase the powers of alertness and concentration.

If you are already a lover of green tea you might want to consider adding match to the mix. Even if you aren’t a fan of the regular, brewed versions you might want to give this a try because the taste is pleasant and sweet. The health benefits are so great that everyone should at least give it a try.

Chances are you’ve probably heard of the health benefits of Chinese green tea. This tea was used as medicine in China for centuries. Today, it’s becoming more and more popular worldwide.

How did it start?

Tea originated in China over 2,000 years ago. There is some legend and mystery surrounding the origin of Chinese tea, however. According to legend, early Buddhists discovered the ta. One tea legend in China actually says the agriculture god Shenog invented tea by chewing the leaves and spitting them into hot water.

Chinese Tea Verses Indian Tea

Both China and India cultivate tea. Biologists have said that the types of tea are different. The plans are similar, but slightly different. Essentially, they taste the same. Under British rule, tea was cultivated as a cahs crop.

Health Benefits of Green Tea

There have been endless claims of the benefits of green tea. Because of high levels of antioxidants, studies have suggested that green tea might be able to prevent diseases and even to fight cancer. If you drink the tea regularly, you will have improvements that lower cholesterol, help you lose weight, and much more. Green tea is sometimes also used in moisturizers.

Green Tea, Oolong Tea, or something else?

There are several different kinds of tea. You can get loose tea or bagged tea. Loose tea is better ofr health benefits, though some people say that bagged tea actually tastes better. Studies have suggested that green tea is best for health benefits, whereas oolong tea is bet for weight loss.

Is decaffeinated green tea good for you? How does the caffeine in green tea impact its flavor? Let’s look at some of the information about green tea and try to sort fact from fiction. As green tea becomes more and more popular throughout the world, there are many questions about its health benefits, and many myths about its properties floating around. Tibetan Goji - Only tibet authentic goji berries are certified by the tibetan government to have originated in tibet.

Green tea, like all tea, does have some caffeine. Caffeine, like many things, is healthy in small doses. The amount found in a cup of green tea is the right amount for most people to feel a bit of a lift without getting the jittery feeling that comes with getting too much at once.

Caffeine Benefits

Caffeine in small doses acts as a mild stimulant. This is beneficial - it improves circulation, helps with mental clarity and alertness, and even helps with weight loss. Scientific studies have repeatedly shown that caffeine may reduce your risk of developing Parkinson’s disease. The tannins and theanine that are found naturally in green tea have a stabilizing effect, and together with the caffeine produce an alert yet relaxed feeling in the drinker.

Decaffeinated Green Tea?

There are two methods of decaffeination that are widely used. The first involves soaking the leaves in ethyl acetate. This releases caffeine and other compounds. Unfortunately, most of the antioxidants are lost along with the caffeine. This process may destroy 30% or more of the beneficial compounds found in green tea. In addition, a small amount of the ethyl acetate is left on the leaves. Most people find that the flavor of the tea is ruined in this process.

The second method for decaffeinating tea is soaking it in a carbon dioxide solution. The water is then treated with either charcoal or carbon to remove the caffeine. The leaves are then soaked in the water so they can reabsorb the other nutrients. When this method is used, most of the healthful compounds remain in the tea. However the flavor may not be nearly as good as the original.

Green tea is rich in antioxidants, which prevent our bodies’ cells from damage due to oxidation. The process is not very different from preventing your car from being rusted.

The knowledge of public about the many health benefits of antioxidants is increasing by the day as the benefits are being published. To meet the growing demand for such products the manufacturers of cold drinks have come up with green tea drinks flavored with fruit juices. Apple, lemon, strawberry, peach, and pomegranate, you name it and it’s out there on the shelf.

Green Tea is often consumed as a dietary supplement. A dietary supplement refers to vitamins, minerals, herbal supplements and other substances (e.g weight loss supplement) meant to improve your diet. Green tea comprises EGCG or the epigallocatechin gallate that makes the tea power packed with the advantages of antioxidants.

As far as aging is concerned, many studies blame free radicals within our bodies as the ones responsible of it. Consequently, the higher the quantity of free radicals in your body, the faster you would age. Since the main job of antioxidants is to neutralize the free radicals their presence is supposed to slow down the rate of aging. Apart from green tea some common sources of antioxidants are apricots, broccoli, pumpkin, cantaloupes, spinach, sweet potatoes and tomatoes. So it makes good sense to supplement your diet with these as well.

However there’s a problem, and that is, once you drink the tea, 80 percent of its antioxidant catechins are lost during digestion, making the mechanism highly inefficient. At the same time a tasty solution…

A number of ‘wonder’ herbs are being used these days with green tea one of the most interesting; as it has remarkable antioxidant properties, it is found in many health products. As a liquid extract, green tea weight loss supplements can be drunk like regular tea but however you take it, you will burn calories more naturally.

It has a wide range of benefits for the human metabolism but first and foremost, it has great anti-aging properties, accelerating cell regeneration and slowing the oxidation process in the system. However, weight loss treatments using it rely on the laxative and toxin purging qualities of the plant that speed up the metabolism. The way to stop fat from forming is by burning calories faster than they can be put on as excess weight, and this is where the product excels.

Despite the success of green tea fat burning products, they cannot work on their own so the user must be responsible for what food they eat and any exercise they perform. Many people seem to think that its use will solve all their weight problems but the fact you are taking the product implies you are trying to improve your health by eating more healthily.

If you use green tea as a drink then the best time to take this is just before you retire for the night. Although it may at first seem a little scary, it has a strange effect on the body and as a consequence the stomach and bowls may not work as they should while you become accustomed to it during the first few days. People using green tea fat burning products for the first time should not be distressed by this effect as it means the tea is doing its job of accelerating the metabolism to rid it of toxins prior to entering the bloodstream. If you maintain other parts of your diet; exercise, plenty of liquids and vegetables, results of using it can be seen within a week.

Often, green tea is combined with other products to work more effectively and one such product is ginseng. Considered to be the root of life in China and Tibet, ginseng root brings the vitamin and mineral supplement the body needs during a detoxification period.

Getting back to a normal weight can be stressful but the addition of ginseng to the green tea helps provide extra energy and fortification by assisting the body’s own immune system. Although safe to use, ginseng and green tea are not normally used for periods beyond six months at a time.

The famous herbal drink known as green tea has become one of the most reliable solutions to prevention and cure for diseases, infections, and other health problems that body is susceptible to. Now, green tea has become available for people in a modern form. Green tea manufacturing companies have made it their primary objective to product green tea supplements so that people can just gulp down a green tea tablet or capsule without having to heat water and mix green tea leaves manually.

Through green tea supplements, people can now enjoy the healing properties of green tea by just taking in a tablet or capsule everyday. These green tea supplements still provide the same anti-oxidants and contain the same healing capabilities as drinkable tea, making it a good alternative for people who are always on the go. Though it may not be 100% similar to making green tea the traditional way, it still contains the necessary ingredients and anti-oxidants to prevent and cure severe illnesses like cancer and cardiovascular problems.

You can find all kinds of green tea supplements being sold in health product stores and online markets. If you are unsure of which supplement would suit you and your lifestyle the best, then you can first do some research on the many popular supplements available and check if they have been used by others and what they think about them.
There are thousands of brands being sold all over the world everyday, so you have to know which ones actually work, which ones are frauds, and which ones are expensive or affordable for you. Some of the most common brands that you will find include Daily Detox, Alvita, Good Earth, and Long Life.

It really depends on you if you would prefer the green tea in liquid form or when manufactured as supplements. Though they may differ in terms of the nutrient composition, it still contains the same green tea leaves that have cured and helped people for over 4,000 years that have diseases like cancer, cardiovascular diseases, stroke, and even problems with tooth decay and high cholesterol.

These supplements aim to provide people with green tea and its healing properties in a form where you do not have to spend so much time heating up water and waiting for the green tea to seep in. If you are a busy person and would still want to experience the wonderful effects of green tea, then supplements are most suitable for you. Skin Care Products | Weight Loss Program

Green tea is not only a delicious, refreshing beverage; it has also been linked to many health benefits. Green tea uses range from beauty products to weight loss aids to disease prevention. Many studies have proven the benefits of tea consumption, with more on the way every year. Here is an overview of some of its many uses.

Relaxing Soothing Beverage

It has a small amount of caffeine, which acts as a stimulant. One of the wonderful properties of this drink is that it also contains a rare amino acid called theanine. This amino acid has a calming soothing effect, balancing the caffeine. The result is an alert but calm feeling.

This makes it an ideal pick me up at any time of the day. You will not encounter the jittery feelings sometimes associated with coffee and tea. And unless you are exceptionally sensitive to caffeine, the amount found in green tea will not cause sleeplessness.

Weight Loss

One of the most popular green tea uses is as an aid in weight loss. Studies have proven that drinking the equivalent of three cups per day of green tea leads to increased fat oxidation. Good news for anyone wanting to lose a few extra pounds!

Unlike other weight loss supplements, the tea compounds do not act as appetite suppressants. They actually increase your metabolism as well as increasing the amount of fat your body burns. Instead of depriving your body of the food it needs, you will simply decrease your level of fat.

Beauty Aid

Green tea is full of antioxidants. In fact studies have shown that it has more of these powerful health aids than either Vitamin C or E. Antioxidants bind to and therefore neutralize free radicals. It is the free radical damage, particularly from pollution and toxins, that leads to aging and wrinkled skin. Daily doses of antioxidants can keep your whole body healthier and free from cellular damage, increasing vitality and energy.

Many skin care products incorporate green tea as one of their key ingredients. It is quite easy to make green tea lotions, cleansers and toners at home for a fraction of the cost of those available commercially.

Green Tea Extract

There are such a vast number of green tea uses. Drinking several cups a day can provide many health benefits. But for those who find that they are not getting three or more cups a day, tea extract can be the answer. In either capsule or liquid form, you can easily harness the power of green tea.
